Today's reading: Psalms 140-144 (141-145) "May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace." - Psalm 143/144:12 One of the most popular topics of religious life in America today is the involvement of young people in the Church. Many words have been spoken and much ink has been spilled, and a lot of the speeches and articles have some very helpful insights to offer. We can see from the verse quoted above that young people have always been of extreme importance to us. As we approach Holy Week, this may be a subject that is brought to the forefront of our minds while we attend many additional services at Church throughout the week. Please use this Holy week as an opportunity to offer up extra prayers for the young people in your life. Bring them to the services if you can. Invest in their faith. Love them. "One generation shall laud thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of thy majesty, and on thy wondrous works, I will meditate." Psalm 144/145:4-5 |
