Deacon Vasilios grew up in Endicott, NY, a grandchild of Greek immigrants who came to the USA in the 1920s. While serving as an adult acolyte under the guidance and leadership of Rev. Fr. Michael Bahlatzis, Dcn. Vasilios began the St. Stephens’ Course of Orthodox Theology in 2011. The following year, with the blessings of Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit and Fr. Bahlatzis, he enrolled in the Hellenic College Holy Cross Special program for the Diaconate which he completed in 2014. Dcn. Vasilios was ordained on November 18, 2018 by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Vestal NY. Dc, Vasilios attended Union Endicott High School and has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Penn Foster College. He is married to Diakonissa Pamela Sophia , and is a retired police detective who currently works as a Special investigator retained by the US Government.
