![]() Father Ciprian was born on June 11, 1980 in Sibiu, Romania. He was raised in a priestly family, his father being a priest for more than 34 years. After attending the local schools, he enrolled in the Faculty of Theology, where he completed two years of theological studies. In January 2002, he transferred to the Hellenic College in Boston, from which he graduated in May 2005 with the highest distinction. In May 2007, Father Ciprian graduated Holy Cross School of Theology with high distinction, obtaining a degree in Master of Divinity. On July 9, 2005, Father married Sinziana Lavinia Sarbu, who was also born in a priestly family. In 2006, Presvytera enrolled in Hellenic College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, with major in Classic Studies and minor in Elementary Education. After moving to Cincinnati, Presvytera completed a Masters in Health Education and Promotion and she is currently a Certified Health Educator. She worked for TriHealth and taught various classes at University of Cincinnati.
On January 14, 2007 Father Ciprian was ordained by Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit to the Holy Diaconate at the chapel of Holy Cross School of Theology in Boston, MA. He served for six months on campus until June 3, 2007 when he was ordained by the same hierarch to the holy Priesthood at Holy Trinity - Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Cincinnati, OH. On September 1, 2007, Father Ciprian was assigned to the community as the Assistant Priest. In this capacity, he implemented and developed an Online Ministry, which included live broadcast of the services, live, interactive catechetical sessions and extensive online video library. During their stay in Cincinnati, Presvytera and Father had their first daughter, Katherine Victoria on July 19, 2008. They are currently expecting a second daughter, who is due around December 1, 2011. Starting June 1, 2011, Fr. Ciprian was assigned as Proistamenos of the Archangel Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church in Traverse City, MI. |
