Father Deacon Spiridon Morris was born and raised in Northville, MI and attended Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Farmington Hills, MI from his earliest years. He began his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in 2013 and graduated four years later with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. In the fall of 2018, Dcn. Spiridon moved to Brookline, MA and began Seminary at Holy Cross School of Theology. In his time in Seminary, Dcn. Spiridon served as the Ecclesiarch, had one year as President of the Married Student Association, and served four consecutive terms as class Treasurer. In the summer of 2020, he married his wife, Elaine, who then moved to the Seminary with him for the remaining two years. Dcn. Spiridon graduated from Seminary in May of 2022.
On August 15, 2022, Dcn. Spiridon began working at the Metropolis of Detroit Office as the Assistant to the Metropolitan. He was Ordained to the Holy Diaconate on July 22, 2023 by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit and continues to serve His Eminence as his Deacon. |
