Reverend Nicholas Kyritses was born on December 10, 1949 in Trikorfon, Nafpaktias, Greece. There he received his elementary school education and later he attended high school in Nafpaktos. In 1963, he was admitted to the Ecclesiastical School of Lamia, from which he received a diploma six yeas later. In 1970, he entered Hellenic College, Brookline, Massachusetts. Four years later, he received his B.A. in Philosophy and religious studies. Father Nicholas was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Apameia, at the monastery of Pendeli near Athens on August 1, 1976. He received his Master of Divinity from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in May of 1977. On February 10, 1977, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, with the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Iakovos appointed Father Nicholas to be the Proistamenos of the St. John the Baptist parish. He assumed this position on March 1, 1977 and still serves the same community today. In January, 2002, Father Nicholas was bestowed the Offikion of Protopresbyter by His Grace Bishop Nicholas. Fr. Nicholas has been blessed with two children: John Nicholas Kyritses married to Leslie Bruno and Vasiliki (Becky) married to John K. Patouhas, and a pair of twin grandchildren. |
