Father Peter is a native of Chicago, and a graduate of Hellenic College and Holy Cross with Distinction and High Distinction (1996). He also has a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1997 and is married to Presbytera Dana. They have 3 children. He was trained at the Illinois State Police Academy and served as a Chaplain and Deputy Sheriff for Kane County, Illinois for 13 years. He is a certified critical incident debriefer and has various certifications and trainings from the FBI, Homeland Security, State of Illinois, FEMA and CISF.
He was a professor at Benedictine University and guest lectured on Orthodoxy, chaplaincy, suicide prevention, ethical workplace, church security, and human trafficking at various law enforcement agencies and Universities in Chicagoland. He was awarded several commendations; from the State of Illinois, cities in Chicagoland, and various law enforcement agencies. He is an Honorary Colonel of the U.S. Army 75th Training Division for his Doctoral work that assisted military personnel. Father has also attended and completed the course at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy for leadership development. He served in the Metropolis of Chicago for many years before becoming the Proistamenos at Holy Trinity in Nashville, Tennessee in 2020. |
