 Father John, a.k.a. Artemakis, was born on the island of Crete in Greece. He came to the United States with his family in 1947 and they settled in Chicago.
After finishing high school, Father John studied at our Holy Cross Seminary in Brookline, MA for one year. He then returned to Greece in 1959 and studied at the Rizarios Seminary in Athens. Then he continued studies at the School of Theology of Athens University. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Sacred Theology (M.S.T.) in 1964. |
