Fr. Bistolarides was born to Konstantinos and Eleni Bistolarides on Feb 10, 1956 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and grew up in Scarborough (Toronto) Ontario. He attended the University of Toronto where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1980 and MBA in 1991.
He married Panagiota (Peggy) on September 6, 1981, and they have five boys – Deno, age 28 (commercial property analyst in Southfield), John, age 25 (associate with Goldman Sachs in Chicago), Demetri (medical student at Michigan State), Paul, age 17 and George, age 15.
Fr. Bistolarides attended Holy Cross, graduating with his Master of Divinity with highest distinction in 2005. He was ordained to the priesthood on January 16, 2005, by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas at St. George in Southgate, MI. On July 27, 2014, Fr. Peter was bestowed the Offikion of Economos by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas. As a priest with a lay vocation, he serves various Metropolis parishes. He is engaged in the academic practice of surgery, serving as program director of the surgery residency program in Saginaw, MI, and is an associate professor with both Michigan State and Central Michigan Universities. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He enjoys reading, travelling, music, and spending time with family and friends.
